Recently, us Fit&FabLiving/Running with Mascara editors received an Amira Mor belly dancing DVD to try out.  I had always wanted to try belly dancing- the movements always look so elegant and feminine, and I always thought it didn’t look too hard to do.  I took the DVD home, moved the couches and coffee table in my living room, enlisted my roommate to join me, and we began!

It’s exciting to publish a blog post about new year’s resolutions because, let’s face it, they can be hard to keep up with and once you post them, you have to commit, right? I always struggle with trying to find something that I can actually do. I can think of tons of resolutions that fell by the wayside over the years, but I can’t really think of many that I stuck with all year long.

The funny thing is that I am a very goal-oriented person, so this should be a no-brainer. In 2009, my goal was to run the Walt Disney World Marathon in January 2010. This wasn’t a New Year’s resolution, per se, since I didn’t even consider running the marathon until halfway through the summer. But it was a large goal that took up much of my free time. If I can plan and accomplish that goal, I should be able to come up with a few good new year’s resolutions.
