This week, Running With Mascara is featuring the lovely beauty blogger, Sasha from Sasha Says.  This married, working mother of two has her hands full, but still makes time to primp and pamper, especially her nails!

If you’d like to see a little beauty blast from the past, check out her most recent post! You have to see if you remember some of those old beauty products!

1.      Tell us a bit about your blog?

I started blogging in mid-2007 with the title “Barely Keeping It All Together” because as a married, working mom of two small children – I was!.  I’ve always been a bargain-hunter and makeup lover (and over-shopper), so my husband registered www.sashasays.com for me and encouraged me to share my bargain finds. I can’t remember exactly when, but at some point I switched my blog over to that domain and changed the name to Sasha Says as well.

I have blogged a lot about my daughter’s ulcerated hemangioma journey as well as her struggle with Sensory Processing Disorder . I was so grateful for the Internet and all the resources I found online when I was looking for info and help for her. I get emails every week with questions, especially about hemangiomas, and am always so glad to help as much as I can.

I also blog quite a bit about running. I used the Couch to 5K plan to learn how to run after my son was born in 2003 and have loved it ever since. I listen to audiobooks while I run (chic lit mostly – don’t judge!) and love my “me” time. I ran my first half in December 2010 and have plans for my second this month.

2. If you were stranded on a dessert island and could only have 3 beauty products, what would they be?

I think the most important thing to do while stranded on the island would be to take care of your skin. So I’d bring: Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25 ($7.50 and FABULOUS and you *and* your hubby can use it!), Aveeno Skin Brightening Daily Scrub (my HG facial cleanser for the shower), and Clinique Superdefense SPF 25 Age Defense Moisturizer in Combination Oily to Oily formula (leaves absolutely no oily residue behind- I’ve used this for as long as I can remember).

3.      What is your greatest pet peeve?

Liars! One of my super powers (along with being Spreadsheet Woman) is truth detecting- I can tell if someone is telling the truth just by looking them in the eyes.

4. What’s your morning beauty routine look like?

I have to be at work by 7, so I get up at 5:35 and spend about an hour showering, drying my hair, smoothing it out with a curling iron, and applying my makeup. I love love love makeup and have been working on doing more with my eye makeup over the last year (winged eyeliner and such). My daily products are: foundation, finishing powder, blush, eye makeup primer, eye shadow, liner, lash boosting serum, lash curler, and mascara. I do lipstick once I get to work.

5. What is the newest beauty product you’re using that you absolutely love?

I am loving Physician’s Formula these days. Their Happy Booster products are so fun, and their new eyeliner serum is my latest obsession- practicing that winged eyeliner!

6. What’s your motto?

Ellen had a lady on her show named Gladys and she said something that I absolutely loved so I have adopted it as my personal motto: “I love Jesus, but I drink a little.” Here’s a link to the video.

7. If our reader’s could only read one of your blog posts, which one should they read and why?

People always ask me how I find time to paint my nails working full-time and parenting two small children. I have a post titled “Manicure Tips for Busy Moms” that lays it all out for you…. You can paint your nails at 9 and go to bed at 10 and they’ll be beautiful for days!
