At Running With Mascara, we have our favorite blogs that we love to read each week, and She Runs, She Eats is definitely one of those blogs. Christina posts on a variety of topics, from food to workouts, and hosts lots of great giveaways for her readers. Keep reading for a chance to learn more about the girl behind She Runs, She Eats!

We got to chat with Christina from She Runs, She Eats, and we learned a lot more about her and the passion she has for blogging!

Tell us a bit about your blog?  How long have you been blogging? How did you come up with the title of your blog?  What are you favorite topics to blog about? Why is this topic important to you?

My blog is about my adventures in the kitchen and the road, mainly running. I started in August 2007, which is a pretty long time when I think about it! I came up with “She Runs, She Eats” because it sums up the gist of my blog in one cool name. I refer to myself as the “Running Foodie”.

I started blogging after looking at a few favorite cooking blogs. I wanted to be a part of it, especially the community aspect. A food blog is like a scrapbook of your kitchen, and an e-cookbook all in one!

Mostly, I blog about cooking and baking. I like getting creative and learning new techniques. I don’t blog about running as much, I’ve noticed, so I need to get back to that.

If you could only use three beauty products for the rest of your life, what would they be?

Eyeliner – I feel I look more awake when I’m wearing it, tinted moisturizer – to even out my skin tone, and a nice body spray – it’s much lighter than perfume and doesn’t smell too heavy in confined spaces.

What is your greatest pet peeve?

This will sound weird — I dislike hearing people chew!

If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?

Invisibility would be nice. I get a bit self-conscious when I take pictures in cafes and restaurants, so if I could be invisible I wouldn’t have to worry about it.

Is there anything new you’re trying out?

I have a friend who no longer uses shampoo to wash her hair. She says her hair has self-regulated and doesn’t get oily, plus she rarely has to wash her hair.

This sounds gross. Eventually, I wanted to see if it would work for me, so I started washing my hair with baking soda and rinsing with diluted vinegar. I’m a week and a half into this experiment, and I’ve washed my hair a total of 3 times. The last time I washed my hair was Tuesday.  (RWM note: we talked to Christina on Friday, so this was 3 days ago). I swear that it’s not very greasy! If I get sweaty but it isn’t time to clean my hair, I rinse my hair with water and use my hands to scrub my scalp.

I have no real reason for doing this other than laziness, and not wanting to wash my hair often.

What is your beauty obsession?

Painting my toenails. I don’t paint my fingernails at all because it tends to chip off when I make bread or wash dishes. Every two weeks, though I paint my toenails a new color. It looks pretty, and it’s nice to know I have pretty toes hiding in my running shoes.

If our reader’s could only read one of your blog posts, which one should they read?

It’s nothing profound or eye opening, but I’d like to share my recipe for granola. I felt like I hit the jackpot when I created it.
