Angie is an inspiration because of her drive to make healthy life choices. On her blog, she shares her weight loss journey, and everything about it reminds us about how to manage weight in a healthy way. A weight loss journey is not about skipping meals or getting rid of every last carb, but rather starting to make healthy choices and watching their impact over time. Keep reading to learn about Angie’s story on Losing It and Loving It, and how a similar approach can help you begin a healthier lifestyle.
Tell us a bit about your blog? How long have you been blogging? How did you come up with the title of your blog? What are you favorite topics to blog about? Why is this topic important to you?
On my blog, I discuss everything from weight loss, fitness to healthy living and my own personal weight loss story. It is my hope that I can inspire and be inspired by others in this journey.
I have been blogging for over three years. The title for my blog means losing weight and loving it. I don’t really recall how I came up with that but figured that I was losing weight and it felt good so it seemed like a fun name at the time.
My favorite topic to blog about is fitness. This topic is important to me because I feel exercise is one of the most important parts when it comes to living a healthy lifestyle.
If you could only read one book for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
The one book I would read for the rest of my life would probably be a recipe book. Maybe just maybe I could learn how to cook. And that would make my hubby very happy!
What is your greatest pet peeve?
My greatest pet peeve is when people at the gym don’t wipe down the equipment after they have used it. That is just disgusting! We are no longer gym members now that we have remodeled our garage into a home gym and I much prefer it that way.
If you were stranded on a dessert island and could only have 5 foods, what would they be?
Oatmeal
Peanut/Almond butter
Trail Mix
Carrots
Beans (black, kidney..any!)
What are you favorite workout moves?
Boxing (all kinds)
Rebounding (mini trampoline)
Spinning
Vertical knee raises
What’s a food that you’ve recently discovered that you can’t get enough of?
No recent food discoveries but lately I can’t get enough of cooked carrots. Yum!
What tips do you have for people who are intimidated to start getting healthy?
The best tip I have for someone who might be intimidated to get started living a healthy lifestyle is to just get started. Start by getting active. Exercise is what I recommend people start with and then they can work on healthy eating/portion control, etc. I also highly recommend becoming a part of an accountability group to share your daily workouts. I have a fitness accountability group on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/losingitandlovingit that keeps me going!
What website do you love, but kind of also hate?
The website I love but also kind of hate is Google Reader (does that count?) I have so many blogs on various topics that I could read for days! Gotta watch my time there.
If our readers could only read one of your blog posts, which one should they read and why?
The one blog post of mine I would recommend is the ABC’s About Me http://losingitandlovingit.com/blog/3257/abcs-about-me/ so your readers can get to know me more on a personal level. It’s just a fun post. On Sunday’s I try to post my daily workout log for the week and I have heard from a lot of people that it inspires them to see me stay accountable even if I don’t accomplish all I set out to do. Here are my daily exercise logs http://losingitandlovingit.com/blog/category/daily-exercise-log/
Thanks so much for inviting me to be part of your blog.
