Fit and Fab Living

We would like to introduce you to the new and extra fabulous!

healthy food alternatives

We know eating healthy can at times be overwhelming. Especially with new super foods being found all the time, healthy and organic price tags and a general confusion over what is healthy. We have outlined 5 health foods, and their even healthier counterparts for you to enjoy!

The idea of putting honey on my face as a mask was actually terrifying to me. I didn’t see how slapping on a sticky condiment could make my skin clearer or more moisturized. It turns out, this substance made for one of the most moisturizing face masks I’ve ever used.

Recently, I’ve started trying to live a healthier lifestyle. After converting to vegetarianism, I thought the next logical step would be to exercise more. I’ve been going to the gym more regularly, and let me be frank: I hate it. However, I am 25 pounds slimmer than I was 6 months ago, so I won’t complain. To take my health-consciousness to the next level, I decided I’d start incorporating more green tea, dark chocolate, and wine into my diet. The dark chocolate and wine you’ll never hear me complain about, but the green tea is another story. I find myself asking the question: does anyone actually like this stuff?

Well, that’s not a fair statement. The bananas aren’t squeezed, they’re smoothed. The smoothie is one of the most simple, nutritious, and delicious ways to get have a quick meal. It’s like having a milkshake, but without all the fat and calories. After my daily morning workout (daily is used loosely here), I always make myself a peanut butter and banana smoothie. Not only is it absolutely delicious, but it’s really healthy too! Keep reading for the full recipe!

Healthy Falafel Burgers

Veggie burgers are my new favorite junk foods now that I’m on a plant-based diet. Falafel are one of my go-to snacks now, too. If you think I’m speaking a foreign language, I kind of am, but they’re nothing weird. They’re just chickpeas that are ground, formed into balls, and fried. Sounds good? It is. Anyway, I was in my mad-scientist mode last weekend and decided to try making falafel into burgers. I succeeded, and keep reading for the recipe!

This week, the folks at StarKist are giving away an awesome bundle of their new Single Serve Creations® pouches and a “Sorry Charlie” T-Shirt. Like tuna? Like witty t-shirts? Then keep reading for how to enter!

We love Botticelli Foods. We’ve talked about how great their olive oil is, but they make a whole line of products in addition to that. Now, they’ve assembled a wonderful gift basket that we can give away to a lucky reader! Keep reading for how you can enter!

At Fit&Fab we try our best to be healthy, work out, you know-all that stuff. But when it comes time for Shamrock Shakes, we have to indulge.

For this post, I thought I’d talk about my hatred of exercising. I do it at least three times a week because I want to live to be 100. Doesn’t mean I like it. Who actually likes gyrating around until they sweat like an animal? I don’t.
