Of the many things I love about summer a shiny, oil streaked face is certainly not one of them. My battle with shine has led me to three products that I can actually trust to control the reflecting mirror that is my forehead in the summer. Believe me I’ve tried it all, but with combination, sensitive skin it’s rather hard to find products I can trust. That is, of course, until I tried these.

You probably wouldn’t ever see me wear this colossal bow on my head. Or any bow, for that matter. If there’s one outfit component I’m willing to skip out on, it’s usually hair accessories. But there’s something about the summer season that makes me want to bedazzle my hair a bit — in a way that’s glamorous and effortless for an everyday look.

Ever wished that some day they would discover a way to tan that would actually be good for you? No free radicals, no harmful UV lights, just the sun-kissed glow that we all strive for in these short summer months. Perhaps there is a solution: bronzer.  But not just any bronzer, this VMV Hypoallergenics “Tarte-à-Tan” powder works miracles for your skin.

As of now, the #1 hottest search trend is “Miley Cyrus Twerking.” In case you haven’t had your pop culture fill for today — or don’t know what twerking means — take a look at Miley’s latest music video, “We Can’t Stop.” Her booty shaking and hip moving is nothing like her Hannah Montana “Hoedown Throwdown.” And though I admit I once mastered the hoedown, I’m not too sure if I’ll do the same with the twerking. Sorry, Miley.

Known as the “Porcelain Princess” in my house, I never really got the chance to work on my tan – that is until this summer.

The maxi, hi-lo hem and peplum dresses may come and go with the seasons, but the dress that I believe will endure forever as the most flattering to the feminine figure is the A-Line. The A-Line Dress is just what it sounds like. Also known as the fit and flare, the A-Line is fitted through the chest and torso and flares out from the waist. I love wearing this fun and flirty style in the summer and even better on a budget! Check out these classy A-Lines all under $45!

Ever get frustrated when the summer humidity turns your hair into a fluffy mess and you just can’t seem to find a good clip to hold it all in place? I may have found a solution.

I’ve always loved nail polish, but I’ve always been a little hesitant to branch beyond just strictly changing my nail polish color to more exciting things like polka dots and painted tips. I mean, I’ve finally just mastered painting my right hand with my left hand and that alone was an accomplishment for me. But, I follow a few nail art related accounts on Instagram and it’s clear that simply painted nails aren’t cutting it anymore. So, I’ve made it my goal to branch out this summer and give into the current nail trends. What exactly are the nail trends for summer you may be asking? Check them out below!

This blog post includes two of my favorite things: summer steals and shoes. There’s no greater feeling than saving money and scavenging new fashion finds to adorn your feet. Say goodbye to rain boots, and give a warm welcome to summer flats, sandals and wedges.

During the sweaty summer months, the last thing you want is a weighed down face full of makeup. Last summer, BB Creams were all the rage for those who wanted light coverage makeup with an illuminating finish. Now, the light feel and glowing power of a beauty balm is being combined with the anti-aging properties of an anti-aging cream to form what is being called a CC cream. AA (anti-aging) plus BB (beauty balm) equals CC (color correcting). Get it?

So, what’s the real difference between a BB cream and a CC cream? Well, a CC cream provides all the benefits that a BB cream does (conceals, hydrates, evens skin tone and protects with SPF) with one added bonus. CC creams visibly reduce the appearance of dark spots, sun spots and acne scarring. It’s basically a BB cream, but with a little extra pizzazz.
